Time has come for consumption tax increase.

Gist of my comment: Despite objection by a majority of Japanese people, consumption tax will be increased from the current 8 % to 10% on Tuesday next week.  Consumtion tax has its history, starting at 3% in 1989, raised to 5% in 1997, to 8% in 2014, then to 10% this year.

I have compared the increase records of consumption tax to a TV quiz program called “Diving quiz.”  The attached picture gives you an image of the program.  The quiz had a rule that a pair of slides loaded by a pair of solutionists is lifted higher and higher according the number of wrong answers.  The angle of the slide gets bigger and bigger each time the solutionist fails to make a right answer.

“the 1st angle level is compared to 3% of consumption tax,” “the 2nd level 5%,” “the 3rd level 8%,” and “the 4th level 10%”

Most of Japanese people (solutionists) are now at the 3rd level, or the end of endurance.  If lifted up any inch, then they will surely be dropped off to the floor.

I know that you join me in my wish that consumption tax decrease will be considerd for its early implementation.

Thank you for your attention to my comment today.  Sincerely, Akkie
